Itinerary
Let us go on this Islamic Cairo Tour to turn back many years—here as far back as the Middle Ages stopped the time machine, right in the heart of Cairo, in a street called El Darb el Ahamar. The Rotana Travel guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo to enter this part of very ancient Islamic Cairo: Start the tour from El Azhar Park using a golf cart that would take us to Bab Zuweila, which dates back to 1092 AD as the southern gate of Cairo; then we will continue to El Saleh Tala'i Mosque, dated 1160, and then we will make a visit to Qijmas Ishaqi Mosque, or Abu Hariba mosque, dated 1482 AD, which is now printed on the 50 Egyptian pounds currency notes, and from here we will continue with our golf cart tours to visit Ahmed El Mehmendar Mosque, which was built in 1324 AD, then our next halt will be El Altinbugha al-Maridani Mosque, 1340 AD. We shall visit Bayt Al-Razzaz, an ancient house built between the late 15th and late 18th centuries, Aqsunqur Mosque (Cairo blue mosque), 1347 AD, and many more historic sites in our tour, which would conclude with a short video show in the El Azhar Park showroom and having lunch in one of the very good restaurants within the park. Then head back to the hotel where you will spend the night in Cairo.
