Description

Our Luxor day tour will take one through a historic journey across ancient Egypt. Valley of the Kings: Here, one finds the royal tombs where pharaohs were buried. King Tutankhamun's tomb is the most famous, with incredibly well-done wall paintings and hieroglyphs on its walls. Stop by the impressive Memnon Colossi—the giant statues that once set guardians over the entrance to Amenhotep III's mortuary temple—and proceed to the magnificent Hatshepsut Temple, carved into the cliffs—a brilliant architectural wonder dedicated to Egypt's female pharaoh. This is a tour to Egypt that gives insight into Egypt's royal heritage through its ancient burial practices, monumental art, and legacies left by Egypt's mighty rulers.

Itinerary

Your day will start with a pick-up from your Luxor hotel, where you'll meet one of our professional guides at Rotana Egypt Travel to begin an exhilarating journey through the pages of ancient Egyptian history. Start your trip to the Valley of the Kings, where most of the famous pharaohs of Egypt rest in final sleep, including Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Seti I. You will also have the chance to see how richly decorated each grave was inside, reflecting the elaborate burial traditions of ancient Egypt. Proceed to the Colossi of Memnon, two colossal statues that once formed the entrance to the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. Each monumental statue stands 18 meters tall and is one of Egypt's most familiar icons. Lunch can be taken at a local restaurant. With its spectacular architecture, the Temple of Hatshepsut is one of the amazing wonders of Egypt. Hewn into the clifface at Deir el-Bahari, it celebrates the female pharaoh, Queen Hatshepsut, counted as one of the most female leaders of Egypt. The wonderful temple is one of, if not the best, attractions in a Luxor tour owing to its beautifully unique design and astonishing location. In the end, your guide will drive you back to your hotel in Luxor, where your day tour ends.
