Itinerary

Your unforgettable trip to Egypt begins with a pleasant flight of around four hours, either direct or with a stopover, to Cairo. The plane touches down gently on the asphalt of Cairo Airport. Driven by a mixture of anticipation and a thirst for adventure, you set foot on Egyptian soil. Friendly tour guides with the Rotana Egypt sign will warmly welcome you and guide you through the immigration formalities.

After completing these formalities and collecting your luggage, our team will accompany you to your hotel. On the way to the hotel you will receive important information, such as the pickup time for tomorrow's day trip. Take the opportunity to relax and explore the amenities of your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

A delicious breakfast will fortify you for the first highlight of your trip: the Pyramids of Giza. They rise majestically on the Giza plateau, witnesses to a bygone world. You explore the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Menkaure and are amazed at the size and precision of the structures. Spend some time in front of the Sphinx, the enigmatic guardian of the plateau, to admire its mystical aura.

In the Egyptian Museum you will delve deep into the history of Egypt. This treasure house of history features an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the famous treasures from the tomb of Tutankhamen. The young pharaoh's golden death mask and the numerous grave goods gave you an insight into the opulent lifestyle of the ancient Egyptian kings. A walk through the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar in the evening rounds off the day and immerses you in the oriental atmosphere of Cairo.

Today we take you on an inspiring journey through time into Cairo's quieter past. The historic sites of Memphis and Sakkara are just a few kilometers apart, south of the metropolis. Memphis, former capital of the ancient empire, connects Lower and Upper Egypt. Surrounded by majestic palm trees, the impressive alabaster sphinx and the reclining colossus of Ramses II await you here.

In Sakkara rises the fascinating step pyramid of Djoser, an architectural masterpiece from the time of ancient Egypt. During our tour through the tombs, also known as the mastaba, enchanting depictions provide insights into the life of the upper class at the time.

After a fulfilling day, we continue our journey and fly on to Luxor by domestic flight. A German-speaking tour guide will be waiting for you there, who will warmly welcome you and look after you personally. Embarkation on your cruise ship is imminent: a touch of mysticism accompanies us onto the deck of the Dahabiya. The city lights dance on the gentle waves of the Nile as we enter our home for the days to come. The ship becomes a living witness of silence and expectation as the night gently takes us into its arms.

The day begins with the breathtaking sight of sunrise as we explore the Valley of the Kings. The mighty pharaohs of the New Kingdom rest here, their magnificent tombs hidden between majestic slopes. The murals in the tombs bring the ancient Egyptian afterlife to life in vivid colors. Our path continues to the impressive Hatshepsut Temple, a monument masterfully carved into the rock that reflects the architectural brilliance of the Pharaonic era. The highlight of the day is the sight of the majestic Colossi of Memnon, once proud guardians of a long-gone temple.

The night envelops us on board the Dahabiya as the splendor of the past day fades gently into the sparkling starry sky above Luxor. On the deck of our floating oasis, the silence of the night becomes a delicate melody that wraps the fascinating history of Egypt in a magical veil.Entry into the heart of Egypt

The highlight of the day is a visit to the well-preserved Horus Temple in Edfu, an archaeological gem full of history and spirituality. Our Dahabiya glides majestically upstream, past endless palm groves and lush Nile banks, a vibrant symphony of colors and sounds. A fascinating stop leads to the ancient quarries of Gebel el Silsila, witnesses to an era when the mighty Nile enabled the transport of precious sandstone for temples and pyramids. Feel the past while hiking through these historic quarries.

The Dahabiya continues its leisurely journey upriver to Kom Ombo, where the double temple of Horus and Sobek towers majestically above the river level. The impressive structure, following the bends of the Nile, is dedicated to the deities Horus and Sobek. The overnight stay is on board your Dahabiya.

The day begins with a visit to the imposing Nasser Dam, a masterpiece of engineering that tamed the majestic Nile in 1971. A scenic crossing on a traditional felucca takes you to the enchanting island of Agilkia, where the Philae Temple sits majestically. Experience the magnificent temple ruins and explore Kitchener Island, a rich botanical garden with impressive views of the Mausoleum of the Aga Khan III.

After a day of exploring, stroll through Aswan's lively bazaar, feel the vibrant energy of the market and take home a piece of Egypt - a reminder of the unique fusion of history, culture and natural beauty that Aswan has to offer.

Breakfast on board before the Dahabiya continues its leisurely journey downstream. The banks of the Nile whisper a poetic ode to the river as you approach the double temple of Kom Ombo, located right on the bank. Here you can once again embrace antiquity in all its splendor and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this historic place.

For all those who feel the desire to immerse themselves in the depths of ancient culture, a very special opportunity opens up: the discovery of the majestic temple complexes of Abu Simbel in the early hours of the morning (not included in the tour price, reservation on site, cost: €125 ,-). A unique experience that brings to life the splendor of antiquity to its full extent and gives us fascinating insights into Egypt's rich history. After this impressive expedition we return to Aswan. The afternoon and evening are a time of pure relaxation, surrounded by the timeless beauty of the Nile.

A day of relaxation, embedded in the sheer endless beauty of the Nile Valley. On the sun deck of your traditional sailing ship, under an azure sky, experience the majestic tranquility as the picturesque river banks pass by. This day is more than just a break - it is a harmonious dance between the gentle gliding of the Dahabiya on the Nile and the endless beauty of the surrounding nature.

Let the gentle winds of the Nile caress your senses as you view the villages and palm groves passing by. The traditional sailing ship, your floating oasis, gives you a unique view of daily life on the shore. The sound of the water, the gentle fluttering of the sails - all this forms a symphony that transports you into meditative relaxation.

Our journey continues as the majestic Karnak Temple unfolds its awe-inspiring splendor before us - a masterpiece from ancient Egypt. The massive colonnaded halls and imposing obelisks tell stories of a time when gods were worshiped and kings were glorified. Under Egypt's azure sky, Karnak appears to be not just a temple but a portal to a bygone era.

Afterwards, the Luxor Temple awaits us, which takes on a special aura at dusk. The magnificent avenue of sphinxes that once connected the temple to Karnak Temple is bathed in a golden light by the warm rays of the sun. The Luxor Temple, expanded by various pharaohs over the centuries, not only contains artistic statues and reliefs, but also the traces of various rulers who left their building projects behind.

It's time to say goodbye to the warm crew of your Dahabiya. After disembarking, you can either take a transfer to the airport for your return flight or a bus transfer to your booked hotel on the Red Sea. We hope you had an unforgettable trip and wish you a pleasant journey home!
